Let me introduce myself..
My name is Brittany and I am currently a Junior at Rowan University. I am working towards dual bachelor degrees in Elementary Education & Writing Arts. I am also in the process of obtaining a certification in Reading. I plan to graduate in May 2012, and I hope to someday teach second or third grade. I plan to use my knowledge from Writing Arts and Reading to help my students understand basic fundamentals and allow them to express themselves in many different ways. I have such a love for children so this is the perfect occupation for me. Also, I would like to mention my inspiration for wanting to be a teacher, my kindergarten, first and second grade teachers. These three women were everything a good teacher should be, dedicated, warm-hearted, and professional. I want to be just like them when I have my own classroom. Thinking about the future makes me nervous, but I am hardworking and determined and these qualities will help me to get where I want to be in life.
To venture away from the educational talk, let me tell you a little bit about my personal life. I grew up and live in Ocean City, NJ. I am very close with my family, which includes my parents and two brothers. We have five dogs at home so it gets a little hectic once in a while. My birthday is April 21, making me a Taurus and let me just say, I fit the Taurus role very well. I am extremely stubborn and I crave comfort. However, I do not let these things bring me down. When I am not busy in school, I like to read, spend time with family and friends, and travel. I have a huge interest in snowboarding and dancing. I am a very friendly person and I love to meet new people!
